MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN

I operate from the perspective that therapy is not about judging and changing ourselves. Rather, therapy is simply creating space for the seemingly dark, fearful, and shameful parts within us. These parts want to be seen and accepted, just as we all do.

In sessions, I encourage clients to allow their bodies and inner wisdom to drive the progression of the therapeutic process. I believe that healing occurs as we gently move towards non-resistance and self-acceptance. This process catalyzes the body’s innate ability to transform emotions, the conscious, and the subconscious mind.

My areas of focus include PTSD, trauma, codependency, emotional abuse/neglect, religious/spiritual trauma, self-esteem, relationship issues, burnout, anxiety, and depression.

With my background in nursing and kinesiology, I also enjoy working with the psychological aspects of chronic pain, injury recovery, and athletic performance.

I utilize modalities such as EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems, and DBT. I also integrate movement, mindfulness, and somatic techniques into sessions. I will be beginning the Somatic Experiencing Practitioner training program in 2024.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Nurse in the state of Tennessee. I completed my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Belmont University.

I am currently working towards LPC licensure in the state of Virginia, and I work under the supervision of Jessica MacNair, LPC.
