Welcome!
I’m David Fernandez, a graduate student in mental health counseling at the College of William & Mary. I am dedicated to providing compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive care tailored to your unique journey. Whether this is your first time in therapy or not, I strive to create a safe and supportive space where you can discuss life's challenges, explore your strengths, and overcome barriers to living authentically.
I am passionate about working with adults of all ages, exploring identity, navigating new stages of life and relationships, and supporting individuals from LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. With over three years of experience as an exercise physiologist in healthcare, I recognize the difficulties of adjusting to life after medical events or diagnoses, and I am equally committed to assisting individuals during these transitions.
I utilize a holistic, collaborative, and person-centered framework that invites you to bring your whole self into our sessions. I integrate techniques from Internal Family Systems, solution-focused therapy, and interpersonal therapy.
If you're ready to take the next step toward greater self-awareness, please contact me at 571-358-9432 or dfernandez.fcwc@gmail.com to schedule a 15-minute consultation or to set up an appointment.
