Life changes can be scary and overwhelming, leading to feelings of hopelessness and powerlessness.  Stressors in our daily lives can leave us feeling stuck, anxious, and misunderstood.  This can be very lonely and physically draining.  Talking through past traumas, life transitions, grief, or physical pain can be difficult. We can feel unseen and unheard and have our challenges minimized.

Do you need a place to be seen and heard?  I’m familiar with working with life transitions, including relocations, career changes, family separations due to military service, pregnancy, and parenthood.  I also have experiences with the grief of life expectations, depression, anxiety, guilt, and frustrations of working through both the military and school systems.  My experiences with the military as a spouse, veteran, and volunteer for over 20 years and 11 years of experience with the special needs community as a parent, mentor, and volunteer have allowed me to work with diverse individuals of all ages and abilities.

Our lives are unique, and we each have our challenges.  I can be a safe space to share your thoughts and feelings.  Together, we can foster positive change and create a path forward.  I’m nonjudgemental, authentic, and understanding.  If I sound like a good fit, you can schedule an appointment or a free 15-minute consultation with me.  You can email me at amyyoung.fcwc@gmail.com.  I can also be reached by call/text at 703-646-1544.

You are valuable; reaching out to talk to someone is courageous.

If you are a military service member, veteran, or family member and need support, I offer counseling at a reduced rate of $30 per session.

*Accepting new clients.*  My supervisor at Falls Church Wellness Center is Shannon Graves, LPC.
