Compassion, Warmth, and Connection.

Whether you are new to therapy or just new to me, seeking help can be overwhelming. Life does not always unfold as neatly as we expect, and taking the leap to reach out is incredibly brave. Good therapy should feel like you’ve reached a refuge of safety to reflect, heal, and grow into your best self without judgment. My approach is warm, engaging, and down-to-earth. I believe in creating a space for you to feel more empowered, affirmed, and supported in your daily life, even when life feels chaotic or painful. Practicing psychotherapy is a privilege I do not take lightly, and I deeply value the relationships my clients and I create together.

I partner with teens, adults, couples, and families to learn how to better navigate intense emotions and experiences and thrive through life transitions. I help people cultivate resilience, peace, and connection after trauma. Alongside traditional talk therapy, I also offer EMDR for those who want evidence-based, neuro-informed healing that targets distressing beliefs, memories, and symptoms to gain lasting relief. I believe strongly in the mind-body connection and weave somatic and polyvagal tools in my sessions. I am experienced in providing services both through telehealth and in-person, and I encourage you to choose whatever way is most convenient to make therapy a consistent part of your life.

Commitment to Advanced Level Care

Drawing from a rich background as a therapist, attorney, and a former Supreme Court of Virginia Certified Mediator for Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court, my approach centers on empathy, warmth, & trust cultivated through years of experience working with people during some of the most stressful periods of their lives. I am a curious and passionate lifelong learner committed to advanced-level post-graduate training to consistently bring evidence-based, results-oriented therapeutic modalities to support my clients as they navigate each stage of life. I recognize therapy is an investment in cultivating your journey to shift from thriving to surviving, and I strive to make therapy a value-added experience.

I am EMDRIA-trained to provide EMDR for a wide range of mental health and somatic concerns, with specific expertise in addressing trauma, CPTSD, and disordered eating. I also partner with several of the area’s leading Registered Dietitians to provide EMDR and collaborative therapeutic care for those experiencing disordered eating, exercise dependency, and body image concerns. My expertise includes supporting amateur, college, and professional athletes who wish to explore a more balanced and healthier way to optimize mental and physical performance.

Additionally, I am trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and am comfortable working with high-conflict individuals, families, and couples to bring more harmony to their relationships.  I have completed advanced training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, and I enjoy supporting women & birthing people at all stages of the lifecycle, including fertility, pregnancy loss, and post-partum. I offer several evidence-based modalities specifically designed to engage individuals in military and 1st Responder communities to move from symptomatic PTSD to Post-Traumatic Growth, including Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery. For those who wish, my kind-hearted Bernese Mountain Dog, Bear, is a trained therapy dog and can join sessions to provide Animal-Assisted Psychotherapy and Walk-and-Talk Therapy. I have extensive training in LGBTQIA+ affirming care and am committed to providing culturally sensitive therapy. My office is a trauma-informed, safe space for all people to show up as their most authentic selves.
