Betsy Christian, MS, RC (Resident in Counseling)
Hope. Such an elusive concept when life seems hard, frustrating, or confusing. As a Resident in Counseling, I seek to work alongside others, offering hope and compassion to all who find themselves stuck, unhappy, and unsure of how to walk well into the future. Gifted in listening, empathizing, processing, and encouraging, I employ a variety of counseling approaches, including psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral techniques.
I enjoy working with teenagers, young professionals, and those who are in transitional seasons of life. I value the role of spirituality in healing and growth and will incorporate spirituality into my counseling for any who desire to do so. I work with those experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, addictions, bipolar disorder, and other mental health challenges. I am also well-versed in counseling people going through challenging life transitions that may not merit a mental health diagnosis, along with military families, and families where parents are deployed or absent (State Department, CIA, law enforcement families, etc).
I received my Bachelor’s degree in History and Secondary Education at Grove City College in Grove City, PA, and a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University Maryland. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and am pursuing licensure in the state of Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am supervised by Jessica MacNair, LPC.
It would be an honor to work with you or your loved ones on the journey to a more hope-filled life. To schedule an appointment, please call 571-510-0640 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
