Dr. Ilana Goldberg
Dr. Ilana GoldbergDC (Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine)
I am a chiropractor and holistic health provider with extensive training in functional medicine. I focus on finding natural solutions for complicated health issues including inflammation/pain, hormone imbalances, food sensitivities, fatigue, stress, sleep and digestive disorders, stubborn weight, and anxiety/depression. My own experience with serious disease (I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2006) shaped my desire to treat the root cause of the problem rather than simply mask symptoms. An alumna of the College of William and Mary, I then attended Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, OR graduating in 2001.

I use a combination of various techniques including acupressure, gentle joint mobilization, deep tissue laser, personalized nutrition and supplements, and a range of diagnostic testing to identify underlying issues.

Dr. Stacy Snow
Dr. Stacy SnowPT, DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy)
As a holistic physical therapist, I am passionate about helping people achieve their optimum health and quality of life. My focus in therapy is to provide high-level care that addresses each individual’s specific needs & situation. I aim to determine the underlying ’cause’ of your problem in order to get to the real source of the issue instead of just treating the obvious symptoms. I have had great success in helping to teach clients how to move better, feel better, and LIVE better.

I strongly believe in the importance of the mind-body connection and believe that the mind plays a significant roll in helping the body to heal itself. I aim to help each client find and utilize the tools to reinforce that self-healing ability, and your physical therapy sessions will focus not only on the body part that is injured, but also on the multitude of other factors that contribute to optimum healing: quality sleep, good nutrition, stress relief, creative outlets, and overall quality of life.

You will receive one-on-one care that is specific to your individual needs and your customized treatment plan will include any or all of the following:
Manual therapy
Movement & gait assessment
Postural re-education
Strengthening and flexibility exercises
Ergonomics education
Personal training for injury prevention or post-injury conditioning
Trigger point dry needling (coming soon)

I have years of experience working with orthopedic conditions of all kinds and treat everything from neck pain to foot injuries and everything in between. If you are suffering from any kind of physical injury or condition, please contact me for a free consultation to see how I can help!

As a Naturopath, I received formal training in basic and clinical western medical sciences, as well as training in Nutrition and the other Naturopathic modalities, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, supplementation, hydrotherapy, and homeopathy. Emily Newman
Emily NewmanCHC, AADP, ACE-CPT (Health & Nutrition Coach and Personal Trainer)
As a health and nutrition coach and personal trainer I am dedicated to helping my clients transform to become the best version of themselves physically and mentally. With fitness being only a part of the equation of a healthy lifestyle, I strive for a deeper success for my clients. Addressing health and nutrition in my opinion is 80% of a successful plan. I pride myself on taking an individualistic approach, knowing that one diet or “way” does not necessarily work for everyone.

I specialize in eating for fat loss, which focuses on getting the proper ratio of protein, fat, and carbs without having to be super restrictive or count calories, as well as addressing hunger, energy and cravings. I guide my clients to find the food and lifestyle choices to best support them through gradual changes. Focusing on one thing at a time and building upon that, which creates true success. I not only address fat loss, but also many other issues that can get in the way of achieving our ultimate goals like easy cooking ideas/recipes, meal prep, sleep, energy levels, and health issues (acid reflux, IBS, constipation, or food sensitivities). I also focus on self-care, accountability, blood type, and metabolic typing. All of these elements come into play when it comes to good health and nutritional habits.

Beth Nichols-Howarth
Beth Nichols-HowarthThai Yoga
I am a yoga instructor and Thai yoga practitioner. I first began practicing yoga in 2002, falling instantly in love with the Baptiste style while living in Boston. After a 2-year break, I rediscovered Baptiste and completed my 200-hour teacher training at Down Dog Yoga in 2006, where I continued to teach until 2014. I am currently the Lead Yoga Instructor at LavaBarre in Arlington, VA. Through the years, I have drawn inspiration from other styles and teachers, including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Dharma Mittra, and Anusara, weaving both their sequences and philosophies into my classes. Life’s lessons abound on the mat, and I encourage my students to take chances in their practice so that they may develop the same courage off their mats.

In 2013 I began studying Thai yoga (also called Thai massage), a long-time interest of hers that dovetails perfectly with her yoga offerings. Thai yoga is a powerful branch of traditional Thai medicine, blending acupressure, stretching and joint rotation to release tension in the muscles and create balance in the body. Thai Yoga is a great compliment to other holistic treatments such as traditional massage, acupuncture, and fitness and nutrition regiments. Benefits include: better posture and flexibility; reduced tension and tightness in muscles; improved lymphatic and digestive functioning; decreased sinus pressure and nasal congestion; increased emotional well-being.

Thai yoga sessions are offered in 60- or 90-minute sessions, for $95 and $145, respectively. For more information on how Thai yoga may benefit you, or to book a session, please contact me at bethgbyoga@gmail.com or 703.786.8861.

Asya Haikin
Asya HaikinRYT 500, C-IAYT (Yoga Therapist)
Yoga Therapy uses movement, breathing, mindfulness, and relaxation to help you move towards greater wellness. During your Yoga Therapy session we will work together to design a practice that is uniquely tailored to your needs. If you are a beginner, I will make yoga accessible to you, if you are a seasoned practitioner, Yoga Therapy will help you more fully experience yoga’s healing potential.

I apply yoga structurally to work with back, hip, knee, and shoulder issues, and have a special interest in working with chronic conditions that affect mobility (MS, Parkinson’s, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia). Yoga Therapy’s integrative focus on movement, breath and mindfulness can be of great benefit for these conditions. I apply Yoga Therapy to manage weight, high blood pressure, reduce anxiety and depression, and improve sleep.

The first yoga book I read over 25 years ago was called “Yoga Therapy for Common Ailments.” Since then I have sought to apply yoga to improve my own health, and that of people around me. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500) with Yoga Alliance, and a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) with International Association of Yoga Therapy. I am a senior yoga instructor at Sun and Moon Yoga Studio in Arlington, where I teach Gentle Yoga and Yoga Therapy workshops. I also have MA from University of Pennsylvania.

Initial Yoga Therapy Consultation: 75 min, $110. Subsequent Yoga Therapy sessions: 55 min, $95.

Home visits can be scheduled for those with limited mobility (please inquire about cost).

Yoga Therapy expenses can be reimbursable from your FSA/HSA (a letter from your medical practitioner will be needed).

Jessica Rimer
Jessica RimerLMT (Licensed Massage Therapist), CKTP (Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner)
Graduate from Northern Virginia School of Therapeutic Massage. Member of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals and the Kinesio Taping Association.

As a Clinical Massage Therapist of 5 years, I specialize in pain-relief and emotional well-being by generating balance throughout the body. Clinical massage creatively combines and applies a range of techniques to assess and manually manipulate the soft tissues of the body. I will formulate a treatment strategy based on the client’s preferences, client history, and physical assessment to relieve specific complaints of pain and dysfunction associated with mental and physical stress. By creating a targeted therapeutic protocol for each client, I can determine the right treatment plan to get you on the path to feeling better physically, emotionally and mentally. The emotional balance of bodywork can often be just as valuable as the more tangible physical benefits making massage a powerful ally in your healthcare regimen.

The effects of massage therapy are progressive and are best when used as part of an overall strategy to promote wellness. Some of the major benefits of massage include lower blood pressure, reduction in chronic pain, relief to overused/achy muscles, increased range of motion, decrease in scar tissue buildup, improved posture, reduced anxiety, stress reduction and promoting quality sleep and improved productivity. Treatment plans may involve weekly sessions to jump-start your healing process or monthly sessions for preventative maintenance so you can work towards eliminating the pain cycle once and for all! Instead of a full body focus that takes time away from the area’s concerning you the most, I hope a more targeted approach will get you back to a happy, active and healthy lifestyle!

Health Savings (HSA) & Flex Spending (FSA) cards are accepted. A receipt with my NPI number will be provided on the date of service. Please refer to your health insurance policy to see if HSA & FSA can be used for massage therapy. Some insurance policies also require a prescription or letter of treatment plan from your General Care Physician, Chiropractor or Physical Therapist.
