Insurance information:
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, my professional services qualify for reimbursement under most insurance plans as an out-of-network provider. However, due to my commitment to confidentiality, I do not participate as an in-network provider with health insurance panels (*I am certified as a TRICARE Mental Health provider) . Michael SearbyMA, LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience treating addictions, depression, communication/relationship issues, grief and loss, and trauma.

As a Professional Counselor, I am privileged to be able to share in my clients’ journeys and to help them overcome difficulties in what ways I am capable. Years of practice have showed me that when we are faced with overwhelming struggles we must first acknowledge their existence, and only then can we reach for the help necessary to find achievable solutions. In the safety of a grounded, knowledgeable, encouraging, and insight-oriented counseling experience I believe this is possible.

I believe in the importance of identifying problematic thinking/ behaviors, building awareness, and developing successful behaviors that bring sustainable change. Mental health issues and addiction affect everything in a person’s life: relationships, mind, body, and soul. If you are open to self-exploration you can find answers with help.

My education has a strong foundation in classical philosophy and literature. I am a married father of four children and incorporate this experience into my work with couples, parenting, and adolescence. I also have personal experience with disabilities and so provide a discount when working with clients facing these difficulties.
