Yoga Classes

Description for Strength & Flow:

A true total body workout, Strength & Flow focuses on plyometrics, cardio, yoga, & strength training all in one hour.

Instructor: Asya Haikin

Description for Gentle Yoga:

Offered by FCWC Yoga Therapist Asya, this class is for anyone who would like to experience the benefits of yoga in a slower-paced yoga class. It is accessible for beginners, and those recovering from an injury.  We’ll practice alignment-based yoga poses, guided breathing, and relaxation.

Power flow set to upbuilding music; inviting you to spend quality time loving your body, while strengthening your mind and staying present with your breath.

Bootcamp, Resistance & Core Training

Description for Metabolic 30 minute Boot Camp:

Want to maximize your time, and have an effective and efficient workout where you are burning more calories in 30 minutes then you ever would in an hour and continue to burn calories throughout the day? If so, join me in my metabolic training boot camp class. We will complete structural and compound exercises, along with plyometrics, with little rest in between exercises in an effort to maximize calorie burn and increase metabolic rate during and after the workout. These workouts are about pushing yourself until you can’t, and resting until you can, therefore everyone goes at their own pace. We will be utilizing one or all of the following during our class: bodyweight, resistance bands, and/or dumbbells. There will be different versions of an exercise provided if need be so that you can this class as a beginner, intermediate, or advanced exerciser, and get the most out of your time.

Description for Total Body Strength and Mobility:

Back pain.  Poor posture.  Decreased mobility.  Inactivity leads to muscles shutting down.  Let’s get your muscles activated again while using techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain.

Class structure:

25 minutes lower body movement patterns with a focus on the gluteal muscles.  Glutes are an integral part of strength and health.  Sitting all day leads to the glutes essentially shutting down.  Other muscles take over and become overtaxed leading to muscular imbalances.  The glutes are your most powerful muscle.  It’s time to activate them!

15 minutes upper body and core focused movement patterns.

20 minutes self-myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and mobility drills.  Using foam rollers, self-care rolling balls, and stretching exercises to combat improper movement patterns and that lead to injury and pain.

Meditation, Mindfulness & Tai Chi

Description for Introduction to Guided Meditation

Bored with your meditation or perhaps you don’t know quite where to begin? Just the idea of attempting to quiet the mind can be overwhelming for some. This class will discuss and demonstrate different meditations. Including mindfulness meditation, breathing meditations, mantra meditation and others.

Description for Introduction to Guided Meditation & Mindfulness for Stress & Anxiety Relief:

This restorative class will calm your mind, settle your body and find a softer focus to your day, through guided imagery, breath work and focus techniques.  Beginners to practicing meditators will benefit from this class.

Psychotherapy Groups

Facilitator: Michelle Jabbour, MA, CSAT

Description for: Healing from Betrayal: (12-week commitment) 

This group helps partners/spouses whose lives have been devastated by infidelity in their relationship. Group will help you understand your traumatic experience, provide focused tools to cope with your trauma reactions, and help you regain stability and security in your life. The group is a safe haven for partners and allows you to work towards healing and growth, with the added benefit of receiving support from other partners. Body Positive Group: (12-week commitment) 

Are your looks really important to you in determining your self-worth?  Do you think more about what you dislike about your looks than about what you like? Do the same old negative thoughts about your looks keep popping into your head and playing like a broken record?  The BODY POSITIVE group will help individuals struggling with their negative body image & lacking body confidence.  This group will challenge & uncover the messages that have influenced your relationships with your body, assist you in becoming the authority of your own body, acquire tools and resources to help you inhabit your unique body with joy and confidence while connecting with others through a shared positive approach to beauty and body positive lifestyle! Description for Baby Steps (New Mom Support Group):

Feeling blue, overwhelmed, isolated? Returning to work? Seeking childcare? Need some me time? Join other new moms to spring forward into parenting. Share your experiences, resources and concerns. An informal opportunity to meet and express both the joys and challenges of ‘mommyhood’. Gain confidence and support while offering it to others and learn the ABC’s of self care as a new mom. Infants welcome!
